David Christensen
An artist born and raised in the mountains and valleys of Utah. My creative nature allows me to paint, sculpt, and develop graphics and 3-dimensional concepts that tell visual stories influenced by history, community, and what imagination can bring to life.
My art career over the years has been a diverse experience that started with pursuing everything needed to be a professional airbrush artist within the automotive world. Time went on, and the airbrush world changed with the advancements in digital media and quality in printed mediums. So, I shifted my artistic focus to adapt to the changing mediums, both digital and traditional approaches to art. The changing skills in the arts led to more education and opened doors to pursue various artistic projects.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in visual communications, with emphasis on painting and drawing, with a minor in Art History from Utah Valley University in May 2019. I am currently enrolled in the Academy of Art University’s Online MFA program for painting and drawing. The continual adventure of creativity and a quest for knowledge of art, history, and creative cultures motivates me to learn and create as a lifelong visual arts student.
Understanding past artistic and contemporary concepts is important to navigate creative endeavors. A Master of Fine Art from the Academy of Art University is my path to better understanding these past and present visual communication concepts and theories. Also, to inspire a possible creative future through diverse visual storytelling within the artistic community.
